It's a long-term commitment, not a one-off — once started, it needs maintaining. ### Who It's For Owners of large trees (willows, limes, planes, poplars, sweet chestnut) where the species and location suit pollarding, and councils or estates with traditionally pollarded street and parkland trees. ### When You Need It Best done in late winter when the tree is dormant. First pollard on a young tree; thereafter re-cut every 2–5 years depending on species. ### Why It Matters Pollarding suits species that respond well to it — and is the wrong approach for most others. We'll tell you straight if your tree is a candidate or not. What Happens If You Wait ## The Cost Of Doing Nothing.
